The Department of History and Philosophy of Science is on Free School Lane. This is in the centre of Cambridge, between Pembroke Street and Bene't Street.
The Department is the first building on your right as you walk up Free School Lane from the junction with Pembroke Street. The building was formerly the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry and still has the old sign above the door.
There is cycle parking on Free School Lane in front of the Department.
Free School Lane is a short walk (about 500m) from the bus station, which is served by frequent buses from the railway stations and the Park & Ride sites.
The Universal Bus – which serves Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge railway station, the West Cambridge site, Madingley Road Park & Ride and Eddington – stops on Trumpington Street near the end of Pembroke Street.
There are a few pay-and-display parking spaces on Free School Lane, and the Grand Arcade multi-storey car park is nearby. However, we recommend that visitors travelling to Cambridge by car should use Park & Ride.
