History of Science, Technology, and Medicine (HSTM)
International bibliography for the history of science and technology and its influence on culture, from pre-history to the present. HSTM indexes around 9500 journals, as well as books, book reviews, essays, dissertations, and conference proceedings in all areas of science, medicine, social science, and technology. Whipple Library Pathfinder 3: Guide to History of Science, Technology and Medicine database

Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza
The IMSS of Florence database includes their library catalogue, the Italian Bibliography for the History of Science, the International Galilean Bibliography, the general catalogue of manuscripts (which contains also the archive of the Royal Museum of Physics and Natural History, Florence) and more. It contains 210,000 records relating to monographs, periodicals, single essays in miscellaneous works, journal articles, book reviews and also archival collections, series and files. About 5,500 printed texts or manuscripts can be downloaded from the database.

Philosopher's Index
The Philosopher's Index is a bibliographical and abstracting database indexing scholarly articles on philosophy and related interdisciplinary fields – aesthetics, epistemology, ethics, logic, and metaphysics – published since 1940. Coverage includes the philosophy of other disciplines such as education, history, law, religion, and science. More than 480 journals are covered as well as a selection of monographic literature and anthologies in 38 languages. On-campus access only.

PhilPapers
Free, comprehensive directory of online philosophy articles and books by academic philosophers. Monitors journals in many areas of philosophy, as well as archives and personal pages.

SciPer Index
Science in the Nineteenth-Century Periodical is a searchable electronic index to the science content of sixteen nineteenth-century general periodicals. The SciPer Index currently contains entries for around 7,500 articles and references to more than 5,500 individuals and 2,000 publications.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN)
Highly regarded free open access repository, devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research. Comprises a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences.

Web of Science (now part of Web of Knowledge; password required)
Web of Science provides access to the Social Sciences Citation Index and the Arts and Humanities Citation index. Books, journals and conference proceedings are indexed from 1981. Users must sign in using Raven.

ZETOC
The British Library's Electronic Table of Contents database (ETOC). You can search the contents pages of approximately 20,000 current journals and 16,000 conference proceedings, covering every imaginable subject in science, technology, medicine, engineering, business, law, finance and the humanities. A list of journal titles covered by the database is available. The database only covers 1993 – present; it is updated daily.
